My Charlie Brown Christmas Tree...Part 2

So it took a few days to get Bjorn to go up into the attic and find the christmas ornaments, but he finally did & here is our decorated Charlie Brown stick tree! The pictures don't do it justice & you can't see the lights very well; it's super cute & makes me smile everytime I look at it. It's Barbie themed!

My Charlie Brown Christmas Tree!

Hey! I know it's been awhile, but I think I'm finally ready to start blogging again. I have been recently obsessed with reading, and even when I don't like the book I can't put it down...I'm trying to kick the habit! On that note, here is my christmas tree story.

So every year I want a Christmas tree, and every year Bjorn tells me no. His reasoning, "it's messy and you make me do all the work." I can't argue with this because I'm lazy and he's right. I make him put up the tree, put on the lights, help me decorate (he usually finishes by himself because I get bored), then he's in charge of watering it and keeping the cats away from it. So, he has a major point, he does all the work. Last year, to counter all the work I suggested we get an inexpensive fake tree...I just wanted a little one to put on a table top or something. I figured I couldn't get bored decorating a tree so small it could sit on a table. We went shopping for the fake tree, but then couldn't agree on which one to get, so we ended up with nothing. This year, I had a brilliant idea...Let's make our Christmas tree! Bjorn was like "right, how are you going to do that." And I was like, "duh, I'm going to make it out of sticks!" He thought I was joking, but yesterday he and I together really did make ourselves a Christmas tree out of sticks! It's not decorated yet, but here are a couple pictures of my Charlie Brown Christmas Tree! I'll post more once I get it all decorated.

To make the tree, we stuck a good sized stick in the middle of a base (that my stepdad so kindly cut for me), and then we drilled holes up the stick and fit smaller branches into the holes, using some wood glue of course! Here is Bjorn drilling some holes.

Here is the finished tree...I can't wait to get some lights and decorations on it. I just have to convince Bjorn to get everything down from the attic for me tonight!

Bjorn's Princess Party

Bjorn's 31st birthday is just around the corner, on thursday to be exact. In honor of the occasion, last night I threw Bjorn his very own Disney Princess Birthday Party! It was super fun; we had a princess cake, and princess decorations, and princess party favors, and to top it all off the birthday boy came as Cinderella, his favorite disney princess!

Before my house turned into a disastrophy, it was the epidemy of princess!

A close up of the cake. Yes, it's a princess castle!

Bjorn as Cinderella!

A few costume edits, and possibly several beers later...

The Princess & Me!
Together on the butt jiggler machine...I know I said we weren't doing any more Jello shots, but apparently Bjorn didn't get the memo. He thought is was hilarious to make everyone take a shot while working out on the butt jiggler machine. In order,

Meghan & Laurene

Ben

Nathan & Al

Dee & Mark

Me & Bjorn

& John

It's too bad you can't see in the photos the actual jiggling motion of the machine. It was just like a Betty Boop cartoon I once saw!

Us girls got in on the princess action too; we totally rocked the tulle skirts!

And Reneau rocked the princess crown!

John was really upset that he forgot his princess costume.

Mark was easily entertained, trying to touch his tongue to his elbow. I swear I didn't try this too!

Not really sure what's going on here, but they're having fun!

Finally, me and my girls!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BJORN!

High School Musical 3

Just wanted to let you all know that I loved it! Very cute! There were all of 7 people in the theater, so it was a pretty packed house. Bjorn had to do a little pre-loading before the show, but he made it through and lived to say "I love it, I can't wait to see it again." Obviousley he was joking, but maybe I should take him at his word!

Sweetest Husband Ever

Okay, so I pretty much have the sweetest husband ever! He has done two things recently that lead me to this conclusion. First, last wednesday I arrived home from school to find my house completely dark; wierd. Anyway, I went inside and found some candles lit in the dining room & around the corner was my adorable husband, all dressed up in his fancy outfit (this is how he proposed to me too). On a side note, to Bjorn a fancy outfit means he put on a button up shirt instead of a t-shirt of a sweatshirt. Anyway, he proceeded to get down on one knee and presented me with the High School Musical 3 soundtrack. I hadn't asked or hinted for this gift, he thought of it all on his own! In case you don't know, I'm a total high school musical junkie! Second, today I was feeling like I wanted to be a total dork and actually go see High School Musical 3 in the theater. Up until today, I was satisfied to wait for it to come out on video...but I've been listening to the soundtrack, and now I want to see it. I texted Bjorn if he thought it was stupid for me to go see the movie alone. Low and behold, he texted me back that I didn't need to see it alone; he said he would go with me! How sweet is that?! I love that guy!

Vibrant Mullet Shampoo

As many of you know, Bjorn has been growing his hair out for the past few months. Earlier this week I mentioned to him that maybe he should go get a haircut; the back seems to be growing a bit faster than the front, and maybe its turning into a mullet. He laughed and said he had noticed that when he was shaking his hair dry (no, I'm not sure why he shakes his hair dry) he could only feel it moving in the back. Anyway, fast forward to this morning...I was getting ready to get in the shower when I noticed there was no soap. So I went rummaging through our very disorganized bathroom closet looking for soap, when I came across this!

VIBRANT MULLET SHAMPOO

Coincidence, I think not! When I asked him about it, first he told me that John gave it to him. When I said I didn't believe him, he changed his story and said he acquired it from Nathan years ago when we all lived in Greenwood. Nathan, if you can verify that story you should, otherwise I have no option other than to think he bought this for his mullet. He can't have a mullet! It's muscle car scented for crying out loud!

Ocean Weekend Work Party!

This weekend we headed down to Grayland again, with Meghan, Nathan, and the Parents (Peggy & Rick). On the ticket this time, complete work on the new game room. Work included finishing up the inside walls, putting in the wood stove, and laying the floors. While I would have loved to help with the "work" (ha ha), I unfortunately had mucho bones to study. Also, Nathan had a lot of homework & Peg wasn't feeling well, so PROPS to the real workers...RICK, BJORN, & MEGHAN!!!! Needless to say, with only 3 workers, the game room did not get finished, but they made real headway. Here are the stars of the show hard at work!

Meghan cutting some wood! She's so awesome, I would never use a saw; I'm sure I'd cut myself!

Here's Rick cutting some wood as well!

And Bjorn very seriously hammering something...

Bjorn is also doing some "Bjorn Style" Painting on the walls. They are still works in progress, but here they are.

This is the door that Bjorn painted for Neil & Fara's wedding, it has been built into the wall for posterity! In case you don't know, the painted door was the "wedding program" and listed the evening's events. This is a bit on the cutesy side compared to Bjorn's normal work, plus he doesn't normally use purple!. P.S. This one is finished.

Obviously since there is a Neil & Fara door built into the wall, there had to be a Becky & Bjorn door as well. This one is not finished yet, but I'll post another picture when its all done.

This is one of the walls that is not getting the pretty wood siding...instead, Bjorn has painted it (much to Peg's delight)! I don't think this is finished yet either...Bjorn never leaves much open space, which is why I'm sure it's not done. I'll update you on this as well!

After all that hard work we needed a bit of fun! For dinner Rick made 2 different kinds of cheese fondue, yummy! And for dessert, some chocolate fondue, yummier! We played another rousing game of Apples to Apples and of course after Nathan's B-day Bash I had to make some more jello shots! It's a novelty after all, plus I had all those stupid plastic syringes to reuse! LOL!

I have to admit, my Jello shots were no better than the ones we got at The Rock...blech! I am convinced the novelty has worn off; no more Jello shots for us!

MRI UPDATE

Just wanted to let everyone know that my MRI came back normal, phew! That means no MS, tumor, stroke, anuerism (spelling?), etc. So that's good news! However, it's back to the drawing board; still no idea what's wrong. On the plus side I haven't had any symptoms in about 2 weeks.

Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday Dani and I made a trip to the pumpkin patch! It was dirty & smelly and we couldn't find the $2.00 sized pumpkins, but we had fun anyway, chatting about pumpkin butts & Pankins...which in case you didn't know are flattened, pancake-like pumpkins. Anyway, here's our pumpkin!

Before carving...

After Carving...

If you can't tell, that's a skull we carved on our pumpkin!

Nathan's Birthday Bash

This weekend we threw a surprise birthday party for Nathan! It was awesome because he really had no clue about the party & the look on his face when he saw everyone was priceless...I wish I had a picture!!!! We had Meghan bring him to meet us at The Rock in Lynnwood, under the guise that our friend Liam was in town and we thought the five of us could all get together for dinner. In actuality we had about 20 people waiting to surprise him. After dinner we all came back to our house where we did cake & presents, etc. Here are some great pictures from the evening!

Nathan in his awesome birthday outfit! Mark made the hat; inscribed on the front is "birthday drinks in my mouth." P.S. Don't forget to check out the shoes!

Buckets & Jell-O Shooters...the shooters were really, really, really, disgusting!

Nathan with his birtday cake. I promise you do not want to know what it says!
