Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday Dani and I made a trip to the pumpkin patch! It was dirty & smelly and we couldn't find the $2.00 sized pumpkins, but we had fun anyway, chatting about pumpkin butts & Pankins...which in case you didn't know are flattened, pancake-like pumpkins. Anyway, here's our pumpkin!

If you can't tell, that's a skull we carved on our pumpkin!

Nathan's Birthday Bash

This weekend we threw a surprise birthday party for Nathan! It was awesome because he really had no clue about the party & the look on his face when he saw everyone was priceless...I wish I had a picture!!!! We had Meghan bring him to meet us at The Rock in Lynnwood, under the guise that our friend Liam was in town and we thought the five of us could all get together for dinner. In actuality we had about 20 people waiting to surprise him. After dinner we all came back to our house where we did cake & presents, etc. Here are some great pictures from the evening!

Nathan in his awesome birthday outfit! Mark made the hat; inscribed on the front is "birthday drinks in my mouth." P.S. Don't forget to check out the shoes!

Buckets & Jell-O Shooters...the shooters were really, really, really, disgusting!

Nathan with his birtday cake. I promise you do not want to know what it says!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN!

MRI & EMG

I had my MRI & EMG today. Glad I'm done with those! Anyway, the MRI went quickly & loudly...it was so loud in fact that I couldn't hear the lovely music they had me pick to listen to for the duration. I was a bit disappointed because I really like Johnny Cash (that's what I picked)! I don't know the results yet; hopefully I will hear back in the next couple of days. As for the EMG (nerve test) that went well also, besides the fact that they basically electrocuted me for like an hour! On the plus side, there is nothing wrong with my nerves.

Neurologist Update

I went to the neurologist today; it wasn't nearly as bad as I was thinking it would be. He just talked to me, asked me about my symptoms, did another neurological exam, etc. He doesn't know whats wrong yet...my symptoms don't really fit anything perfectly...but on the plus side, he doesn't think it's anything serious. We're doing an MRI on Thursday, mainly to rule out MS; we're also doing an EMG (nerve test), he's thinking it may be a pinched nerve. I'll let you know how it goes down. Keep your fingers crossed for pinched nerve!

Here's What We Ended Up Doing

So Bjorn and I ended up having a really nice & relaxing day together yesterday. We haven't spent an entire day by ourselves in ages, so it was really fun...for me anyway, I hope Bjorn had fun too! We went down to the edmonds waterfront & wandered around by the water for awhile until we found this giant antique mall that we HAD to go in. They happened to be having an auction while we were there & Bjorn accidentally bid on some seriously giant wine racks. I think you were supposed to build them into your wall, or something. Fortunately he was outbid, but it would have been funny if he'd won. We found a really awesome painting that we bought & several others that we wanted but didn't buy. After that we walked to a little bar by the water and had a couple of drinks before we headed on over to the cutest little Italian restaurant ever. If you're ever in Edmonds I highly reccommend this place, GIARDI'S OSTERIA. It was a little spendy, but the food was awesome & the atmosphere was really quaint & romantic (sorry that's a bit cheesy, but true!). We basically had our server to ourselves, so service was excellent as well. We went for a full on 4 course meal...appetizer, salad, pasta, dessert! It was fun, we never do that, especially dessert. After dinner we came home and watched a movie together (I can't believe he sat through all of A Cinderella Story) & then part of another, until we fell asleep on the couch...ha ha, that's our age showing!

Anniversary!

Bjorn and I had our first annivesary on the 6th, but due to our crazy busy lives we haven't had a chance to celebrate yet. Today, however, we are finally going to celebrate! Yay! We're going to spend the day together & then go out for dinner on the waterfront in Edmonds. No specific plans yet, but I'll let you know what we end up doing. As for anniversary presents, we exchanged those last night, and I have to say I did GOOD!!!! Bjorn loved his present and had to call Nathan right away to tell him because he was so excited about it. Anyway, first anniversary is "paper" & I was having a horrible time trying to think of some paper item that would be meaningful to Bjorn. Suddenly it came to me, duh! AUTOGRPHED PHOTOS OF BILLY DRAGO, 2 to be exact plus one that is not signed!!! For those of you who don't know, Billy Drago is Bjorn's favorite actor & when I say favorite, I mean he has framed photographs of the man sitting on our mantle...however, none of these photos were autographed, so I upped the stakes a bit. Anyway, in order to get one of the photos I had to buy the whole "Delta Force 2" press kit, so now I have a bunch of unwanted Chuck Norris photos as well! LOL! As for my gift, it was a bit on the unromantic side, but totally sweet because for like the first time ever Bjorn remembered something I had mentioned that I wanted...A JUICER! I can't wait to buy some fruit & make juice!

Wierd Symptoms Update

So I am not having any unusual symptoms today, so YAY! I do have one killer headache though. I went in to see my doctor this morning and they did a complete neurological exam. They seemed very concerned, but didn't find anything unusual during the exam...except the fact that I am over reflexive (so super reflexes anyone?). They referred me to a neurologist, whom I have an appointment with next Tuesday. Also, my very good friend Meghan referred me to her naturopath, whom I'm also going to try to schedule an appointment with next week. I'll keep you posted! Hopefully nothing is wrong; I would actually prefer to find out I'm some kind of psychotic who is imagining all these strange things!

Not Feeling So Well Today

As you can see by the title, I'm not feeling very well today. It started last night & has just kept escalating throughout the day. It's not any normal kind of not feeling well, so it has me a bit worried. I'm going to describe my symptoms for you all & I'd appreciate any feedback as to what I should do. I'm a known hypochondriac, so I don't really trust myself in these situations. Bear in mind that I briefly experienced all these same symptoms earlier this year (January/February), and was told by my doctor it sounded like a viral inner ear infection. The symptoms eventually subsided & I assumed that I had had an ear infection. Well the symptoms are back & it seems wierd that I would have another ear infection, especially one that doesn't hurt my ears (it didn't last time either). Anyway, here goes...

My head feels very strange, like a slight dull pressure mainly near the base of my skull. I'm also feeling off balance and kind of dizzy, which is in turn making me feel nauseated. Also, I keep having random feelings of tingling in my fingers, burning in my toes, and the muscles in my arms and legs feel very weak.

I know this sounds like a lot of really wierd things, but I know I am not imagining it. I'm literally having Bjorn come pick me up from work, because I don't feel like I can be a safe driver! I can't decide if/when I should go to the doctor. Let me know what you think!

Bog Jog Results!

We're home from the Cranberry Festival, and we all successfully completed the 5K Bog Jog this morning...Yay! The competition was stiff for us girls this year and unfortunately none of us placed :( Bjorn on the other hand rocked! He came in first place & got a shiny medal! Another plus, although she didn't place, Meghan did win a totally awesome fire extinguisher in one the special "bog jog" drawings!

On Friday evening we drove down to Grayland & met Meghan, Nathan, Fara, & Neil. We had a few irish car bombs and a bottle of wine & played a rousing game of Apples to Apples. We also trekked down to the beach where we promptly lost Bjorn. We had to send out 2 search parties for him, and Nathan was finally able to locate him asleep in the sand dunes. Bj thought this was pretty funny, I on the other hand did not.

Saturday, we woke up to a gorgeous day!!!! Yay, no rain! After some bacon and eggs, we drove down to the Grayland Community Center to check out the Festival. It was not surprisingly pretty lame...sadly though, it was even lamer than usual. We left after about 15 minutes with nothing to speak of except some kettle korn. To cheer us up, we went to the beach! Here's a beach pic! Unfortunately I didn't take many...

This is Bjorn on top of a giant stump; you can see it was a gorgeous day...or maybe not.

Later we went up to Westport where we had drinks at the Half Moon Bay Bar, home of Washington's best Bloody Mary. I didn't have one, but we still all had a good time!

Here we've got Neil, Bjorn, and Meg loving their french fries & Peg, Rick, & Fara with their "Best" bloody marys.

Time for some goofing around before the Firefly Parade...

That's me & Bjorn!

Finally, what you've all been waiting for....drumroll please....the JOG!!!!

STRETCHING...

GETTING PUMPED....

RUNNING!!!

ALL DONE...WHEW!

That's about all the blogging I can handle for the time being...I really need to get started on my homework...I'm stalling....

Later!

I've Been Tagged...

Thanks to OneHealthyMama, I've been tagged. Watch out - you might be next!

Here are 7 little known facts about me:
  • When I was a little kid I wanted to have a kitten farm when I grew up!
  • I absolutely HATE mushrooms!!!! If mushrooms were the last food on earth I would die before I ate them...not joking!
  • It takes me 2 hours to get ready each day & 30 min. to get ready for bed...I wish I was joking!
  • I drool when I sleep! When I first met Bjorn we fell asleep watching TV one time & when we woke up I had drooled all over him; his shirt was soaking wet...and he still married me!
  • I still like Britney Spears!
  • I have 140 plus pairs of shoes...okay, maybe that's not a little know fact, but its still a fact!
  • I really, really want a puppy & Bjorn won't let me have one...okay that's not a little known fact either, but i still REALLY want a puppy!

CRANBERRY FESTIVAL & BOG JOG

This weekend Bjorn and I are heading on down to Grayland, WA to check out the totally awesome Cranberry Festival & participate in the annual Cranberry Bog Jog. We've done this jog once before, in the pouring rain, so I'm definately hoping for better weather this time around. In fact, if I wake up Sunday morning and its raining, I am NOT running! I only started practicing for this run on Monday, so it should be interesting. I don't think I'm getting a medal this time...last time I came in 3rd place! Bjorn has been practicing for months though, so I'm expecting great things from him! Running with us are Bjorn's mom, Peggy, my sister-in-law Fara, and my pseudo-sister, Meghan. Anyway, we should hopefully have lots of great pictures! Wish us luck & have an awesome weekend!
